Ben Hart
Managing Director, Media Monitors

Ben has been at the forefront of technical supply and management in the UK broadcasting industry since 1990 when he joined Alice Soundtech plc, a turnkey broadcast equipment manufacturer and transmission provider. Initially appointed as a sales executive, he quickly rose through the ranks of the company to become Managing Director. While in post he defied a severe financial recession, tripling turnover.

Seeking an opportunity to own, as well as manage his own firm, Ben purchased 'The Audio Connection Ltd' in 1998. In addition to its established studio installation business, this was his first foray into providing radio automation by supplying products for ENCO Systems Ltd. Ben was so successful in this pursuit that, when ENCO decided to establish a UK distribution arm, Ben was appointed to run it.

Ben has also acted as a consultant to a number of broadcast, communications and marketing firms, including Harris Systems Ltd, beyerdynamic and Broadcast Bionics. He was a founding shareholder and director of Media Sound Ltd, which won a local radio licence in Sussex in 2000; Bright 106 achieved trading profit within a matter of months.

Ben was headhunted to join RCS UK in 2003 as Managing Director. Since then he has overseen substantial improvements in sales, profit, debtors, accounts management and administration. He has relocated the business, achieving substantial savings, and regained the prestigious Capital Radio account.

Ben has a wide range of other interests: he used to own an antique furniture shop and has a continuing passion for motor boating. He is also a key member of the team which has organised the annual 'Rock'n'Roll Ball' in aid of Cancer Research UK, raising over £360,000.
